Gallery / Re: Pictures from Corona Land #1 - Winter scene
« on: 2019-02-02, 18:05:44 »
For main road covered by snow I used divided plane mesh with very detailed snow bitmap, displacement and normal map for fine details. For far snow terrain I used Cinema regular landscape object with small size and height and also displacement map. For small snow details like roof snow cover I made object with use metaballs painting through splines. It wasn't very complicated. Entire displacement process took 58 Giga ram during render. I think it's key for details for this scene.

Hi there!

I would like to introduce first chapter of my new personal project. I created full CG generated images focused on strict photography approach. I used Corona for Cinema 4D render engine which produce outstanding quality and offer very handy and flexible workflow. First time during CG project I was feel free as a photographer. Apart of the photography attitude, cold winter, falling snow effect simulation was also important and quite easy to achieve in full 3d scene with motion blur, volumetric fog and a lot of detailed displacements. We can show much more than only to present real things. We can introduce sense feelings too. Nowadays the realism factor comes smooth and I believe that I will stop being divided soon. Divided to a CG and photography artist. Chapter #2 is coming…

Hi

Thank you for the solution. I have to install latest Corona version. Now I use Version: B2 (core 3) so maybe this bug is fixed now. I'm going to check new version.

Best regards

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Volumetric environment bug (?) issue
« on: 2019-01-02, 16:56:58 »
Hello

I discovered weird difference between corona environment volume fog material scene render compared to volume fog material added to cube object. It's noticeable for large fog scenes for distance above less more 100 meters.

I uploaded test scene. Short description below:

I made scene with ten area lights cloned linear on 200 m distance ( 20 meters gaps between the lights ). I added volume fog material to environment tab. The outcome render shows that not all lights have fog volumetric cones shapes - render below:

http://www.realpolygons.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Enviro.jpg

I turned off environment fog and added huge cube object to the scene ( 250mx250mx20m height dimensions ) and added the same volumetric materia to it. Render looks fine, please see image below:

Hello

I can confirm that motion blur feature hang on scenes definietly. I tested it for different object and camera motion blur situations:

- simple object movement betwenn two keyframes
- cached frames animaation of cloth simualtion
- baked object points animation to mdd file

all these animated scenes cause freeze corona render at preparind data process. Without motion blur ticked on everything work fine.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Re: Motion blur render holding.
« on: 2018-05-22, 15:59:57 »
Hello

quadcat - I decided to add a few words to your topic due to the same problem I hope that it's ok for you.
I can confirm the problematic behavior of the rendering when object motion blur is ticked on. I have scene with one animated object. Initially It was soft body object which interact with two simple objects. I simulated short sequence and baked all frames via simulation tag. After a few tests I noticed that first frame render attempt is ok as quadcat described. Next attempt causes that rendering stuck on the "Preparing scene data" stage. It's definietly bug for object motion blur option.
I exported points animation of my object to mdd file and re-exported soft body model with mdd animation file where all points move related to mdd data in each frame. No cached simulation tag in the scene. Again corona render first frame good and stucked on next frame on "Preparing scene data" stage. Always when I tick off object motion blur feature everything is ok for both types of the animation: simulation or mdd file.
If it will helpful I can upload my scene.

Best regards
Neb

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Small bug - Camera Tag copy
« on: 2016-11-25, 14:14:08 »
Hi

Just small bad behavior. If I copy Corona camera tag from one scene camera to another ( without tag of course ) the camera tag settings are reset to defaults. For example I set camera setting to ISO 400 ( from default 200 ), shutter to 500 ( from default 30 ) and aperture to 11 ( from 16 default ) and copy this modified tag with ctrl key to another camera in the scene the shutter speed settings are reset to default 1/30. Iso and aperture works fine and during the copy operation keep on as the modified value.

Thanks you Rhodesy. Very often simple ideas are most effective :) For the object motion blur I just thought to blur two moving cars in postproduction but I made first Corona motion blur test before and it rendered fast and good. Then I decided to make it directly in render. It's the best when we can get right and flexible balance between 2d and 3d technics.
