pretty cool. I find the images a bit too sharp though.

[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Daily builds version 2
« on: 2018-03-08, 11:19:43 »
it is still there ;)
https://trello.com/c/oEFSRArR/126-v-ray-compatibility

first  implementation should be released soon in daily builds, and it should work even without vray installed

Wow, but wait, will vrmaterials work without vray? Or just vrscans?

Chaos Corona for Blender / Re: Corona Environment HDRi
« on: 2018-02-28, 10:24:30 »
Hi,

When I try to use latest daily standalone the "texture not found/accessible" error pops up for any file I put as an environment map.

Tried different hdri types, file formats even jpegs, runing blender as administrator, trying to load from diferent disk drives and folders, disabling antivirus...

I read the .scn file path is ok.

I don't know if this is corona or exporter issue but corona won't load any file I put there.

also another error pops up in attachment, but render continues anyway.

Hope you are aware of that :)

Well, now I am. Thanks.

Wait, what? Are you saying that this was modelled in CAD software and exported into polies with such clean topology?! I didn't even know that it's possible. o_O
nonono this was just polymodeling, i'm pretty sure you can't get this topology out of cad conversion.

Probably should take that cad mention away from original post. I used cad stuff only as guidance but in the end all is polymodeling.

21
So while going back and forth between cad and poly modeling just some basic shapes and proportional guides were done using cad on this model. I explored blender and it's tools / addons and this model is a result of that.

I'm giving away only model as materials are from corona library and it works ok for this type of model. I didn't do uv's as I didn't want to use some complex textures anyways.

Enjoy.

Really good work, I love these.

Did you guys see what kind of realtime viewport is blender getting in 2.8 version?

Due to lack of GI baking it's not on unreal's level but having the same disney princibled shader used in realtime viewport as in rendering is pretty awesome.

Hardware / Re: Graphic card upgrade
« on: 2018-01-29, 07:00:39 »
thanks a lot

would this card be improvement for Agisoft calculations as well?

Of course, gtx660 is very old. But make sure to get 6gb version.

1060 6gb is really nice for a workstation unless you render or game on the same setup. Although currently way over 250 euro.

However sluggish max performance (using max2017) is always problem. Especially comparing to maya - insane difference.
But if you only encounter problems due to heavy geometry/textures it will definitely help.

I saw this... I love that channel. Wonder if this is something that could be (in the future) implemented in corona.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Perforated Brick

I think the easiest way is to simply model and instance a single brick.

Rare armchair model Bambi designed by Rolf Rastad and Adolf Relling. Produced by Gustav Bahus & Eft in Norway.

Another excercise in cad/nurbs modeling, converted to poly/tris. UV mapped for use with simple wood textures.

It's not perfect and due to the imperfect weaving work it wouldn't hold well in high-res close-ups. But as part of larger scene it should do well.

Provided only fbx without textures since I used just some basic wood materials that come bundled with corona as shown on renders.

Let me know what you think.

General CG Discussion / Re: Modelling query

If you want to remove holes, just delete everything regarding the hole itself and colapse the opening... Is that what you want?

Continuing with my suffering/learning nurbs modeling...

Is there anyone who knows how to meaningfully UV map cad models?

I mean, those models always have nicely unwrapped patches by default, however not sure how to create continuous UV across patches that are not welded and are not flat so simple projection would not work.

Basicaly I guess what I need is to know if I can sort of align and keep aligned edges of UV shells/islands while unwrapping... :/
