How would that help, when there is no option to tick randomize each tile? :)

OK maybe it's still a bit unclear what I want to achieve.
1. lets say you have an image of one tile. (first image attached)
2. you map it onto an object, repeated in U and V direction. (second attached image)
3. now every tile looks the same. (with uvw randomizer i could rotate or offset each of the tiles randomly, effected by an initial seed factor.)
4. but what I am missing is the option to colorize each en every single tile randomly. (third attached image)

I know that for this example I could use photoshop, to let's say make a map like the third image attached and then use the uvw randomizer to offset the texture by the fraction of the rows and lines.
But this example is just a simple one to show what i mean. In reality i have very complex shader structures in my material which i can't achieve by the photoshop workaround.
Is it  a bit more clear what i want to do?

Thanks
Jay

Hey Beanzvision,

thanks for your reply. Sorry for my confused request, it was to late prbably to write something clear :)

Sure it has that feature. I'm using it daily! 😜
But what I'm looking for is the "Randomize each tile" checkbox there, same as in the "UVW Randomizer Shader"
So I can influence the Gamma (or anything else) by each tile of the texture.

Or is there maybe any workaround for this yet?

Thanks
Jay

hey everyone,

i was wondering if there is a way how to use the very powerful functionality of the multishader on the tiles of a material.
similar as with the uvw randomizer.
let's say you have a texture of one single concrete tile and you want to rotate it randomly and als slightly change color/reflexion of each tile.
rotating and flipping is no problem with uvw randomizer. but how can i change the gamma or something randomly? the multishader does not provide this option.

thanks for any ideas ;)

[C4D] I need help! / Re: anisotropy without bending

hey Beanzvision

thanks for your help. I will try that after my current massive render has finished.
I saw in this quite old quicktip for 3dmax that it might have something to do with the liniear workflow and gamma. do you think this could be the reason in cinema too?

[C4D] I need help! / anisotropy without bending
« on: 2022-04-16, 21:35:36 »
hey everyone,

I need to create a reflective material with kind of stretched blurry reflection.
Somehow it is always bent circular or in a S curve. How can I get it straight to fit with the zig zag sheet metal I'm aplying it to.
I also tried it with bump instead of anisotropy, but it does not look the way it should.

The material I used is very simple. Physical material, Roughness 10%, Anisotropy -0,5. Thats it.
Can someone help me to get these reflections straight pleeeeze ;)

Check screenshots to see what i mean. Thanks a lot!

Hey Jan,

thanks for the hint. I will try that out, and let you know if it works for all frames.

A more visible/intuitive solution would be great thou.

hey.

usually use a light material with emission turned of.

[C4D] I need help! / Remove Render Region
« on: 2021-11-14, 11:33:46 »
Hey,

I'm pretty sure someone has already asked this before. Unfortunately i couldn't find it thou :)

Problem:
Im rendering several cameras of one scene using a stage object. During test rendering I use Regions a lot as you can imagine.
Somehow Regions are saved per Camera/Frame. Which is a good thing in general, but! When I want to render the whole series in high quality and full Frame it happens often that there was a Region in some frame not turned off. So after a night rendering I find only the region being rendered in the morning. That issue already got me severeal times into time trouble. Disable or Remove All only works for the current frame. And starting all 10 frames with an prepass time of 5min each to see if there are regions on is not an option as you can imagine.

Question:
Is there a way to turn of the Regions for all frames before starting to render? Or is there a way to see if there are regions still active in any frame/camera?

Thanks everyone. Corona rocks!! 🤙🏻
