Enabling the render icon in the layer tab for either scenes created for Cinema standard renderer or ours shows the same result. No lights get rendered.

Hi there, Have you tried this with Cinema's standard renderer and lights? Does the same thing happen?
I have an R18 and the standard visualizer does not have an IR. However "Interactive Render Region" works normally.
At Corona I now can't check out - demo period v5 is over. But you can check independently - I provided the test file.
...or is so only on my computer and on yours all right?

What you see is a realistic simulation of an effect that you see in real life (caustics).
There are no additional parameters like "caustics intensity", "intensity from distance", "blur from distance", etc, because such things do not exist in real life.

Well. There's another variant - visualize twice (Caustic with and without) and then achieve the desired result in Photoshop ;-)

Try making the scattering color in the water material lighter than black. If it's black, there will be no scattering and therefore no result. It's the scattering which lets you control the intensity of the caustics over distance. Just like in real life, really...
Scattering color... I know it. But his lightening strengthen opacity.
Generally opacity is regulated by 3 parameters: Absorption Color, Absorption Distance, Scattering Color. Between them need to reach a balance: correct color, degree of opacity, distance of opacity, luminosity of depth, luminosity at a surface... This hemorrhoids. This very BIG hemorrhoids :-(
What is the difference between Corona from VRay? Corona - it's easy settings, everything is done quickly, and then only need to press a button "Make beautiful" and all - will be beautiful :-) Well, VRay - need a whole day to adjust a lot of settings, to end up getting the same.
Therefore, in order not to become like the VRay, I suggested these 2 additional options: "Intensity from Distance" and "Blur from Distance" :-)

There is an unpleasant feature: Corona Lights do not respond to off Render in Layer Manager. Corona Lights - IR need to restart (VFB normally). But Corona Sun - it is very difficult case.

At first liked the new caustic. But then decided to look at the interaction with water. And then notice that the result is too hard (pictures 1,2). Besides surprised that there are absolutely no caustic settings, only "Enable".
Tried "Caustics only in caustics pass" option, but this method can not achieve (in Photoshop) the desired result, it's limited.
Then looked, how caustics behaves not in shallow water, but at great depth (picture 3) and here clearly shows the same flaws - is too strong.
Therefore, there is a wish: add to global settings "Intensity from Distance" and "Blur from Distance" to allow more control.

Hi, Why not use the Corona color correct shader to invert it?
Wow!, sorry, my omission, didn't see it.
The thing is, I have a pretty bad impression of the "Corona Bitmap" shader and I used it only for Displacement: Color Profile > Linear. That's all. But "UV Tint" and "Crop / Placement" - this is some darkness. I tried to understand independently, but did not work out, and no Help.
For this reason also didn't look in the "Corona Color Correct" shader. But now I'll know.
However option "Invert" would not be superfluous, and "Mix Strength" for Glossiness especially.

When I got acquainted with Corona, liked the ease and convenience of working with materials. But then noted that some functions are not enough. In particular Invert for textures.
1) Screenshot 1. For example VRay in the Alpha channel has an inversion, which is sometimes convenient, but it wouldn't hurt for Corona.
2) Screenshot 2. Even more there is a need for invert function in the Reflection channel, because there are not always Glossiness textures, but instead Roughness. Also for more accurate adjustment (or temporarily turn off) it would be useful Mix Strength.

Ok, sequence of actions:
1) IR launched
2) dragging in field Include/Exclude first object, then 2 materials
3) IR at this time continues to run and does not respond to the materials (was that unresponsive to objects - arbitrarily)
4) stop IR and run VFB - everything correctly and well
