[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Re: Seamless integration
« on: 2012-12-22, 11:16:11 »
finalrender will render adesk a & D shaders, it's very handy meaning I can jump around with minimal interruption between mr, iray and fr would love it if corona could render these also - or maybe a conversion script with a revert feature

IR as a primary GI engine is not complete as yet - use either:-

  • PT as primary, HD cache as sec
  • PT as pri and sec
  • Bi Dir
  • VCM

Do to dr as yet, and for animation use pt primary and secondary. Loocas has used hdcache as secondary with some success have a search for his post in the gallery :) I've had a jcb animation work fine with pt primary and hd cache secondary.

Looks strange, could you post a stripped down scene? Had grass work ok here as while back :)

8gb is plenty - well at least it does me, and my 2.5gb gfx card fits most of my interior scenes in with iray

Will do when it's complete - need some soil in the bucket and a bit of movement. Will be even better when you have pflow support in corona :)

Recent fast render - 3 min on an i7 at 720, simple noise reduction in AE, yet to purchase Neat video, Scene has had more work since then, as white tyres look so wrong ;-)

Amends already done :) sorted out the bump maps in the paint shader, tyres sorted, now a bit of tweaking of the lighting - client very happy atm and so am I, faster renders then fr, mr or vray and better results - what's not to like?

A few smoothing errors, but boy does the fillet part of the shader work well :)

1080 in 1 min 37s good enough for anim with a little noise reduction
vray was much longer and looks crap - no fillet shader production ready
fr - slow as old boots for the blurry

Rendertime Sam?

I much prefer having things built into max. Never understood why you have to export scene, then create shaders in a standalone, seems like doubling up the potential problems to me. OK there are a few benefits in standalone renderers, but drawbacks also.

I'm loving the direction c* has taken, think it's a very astute move workflow and business wise. I've tried indigo, maxwell, fry etc but the standalone app for shaders, lighting etc bit drives me nuts
