I have a character in 3 different poses, 1 of them instanced couple of hundred times. The scene consists of nothing else than these proxies.

Now one character has 6 737 664 polys. 3x this number makes unique primitives of 20 212 992 (this number is corona showing properly)

However if I have total of 321 objects(proxy) from which I have 3 unique I should get:
2 162 790 144 polys however corona is showing both in the stamp and rendering dialogue 18 446 744 071 577 374 464 primitives/polys.

To get to this number of polys I would need to have 2 737 854 554 869.07249515559102 objects with 6 737 664 polys instead of 321

But if I delete one instance so that I have 320 objects each of 6 737 664 polys corona does the math right and shows 2 156 052 480 primitives, both in rendering dialogue window and rendering stamp in the framebuffer.

so 2 156 052 480 - shows ok but 2 162 790 144 - shows incorrect: 18 446 744 071 577 374 464

I have a character I'm working on. But Before it's done I wanted to test how can I get the model from zbrush into max in full quality(no lowpoly with displacement). Character won't be animated so instead using low poly and doing displacement i want to use proxy mesh on already posed and ready to render mesh. I noticed corona has an option to when loading proxies to get it from .obj. But that gives me an error. Now I managed to load the character into max as an obj since now it has only 6.7mil poly and even when I will continue modeling it, it shouldnt have more in the end so this one could get converted from inside of max. btw. I'm adding little test with the 6.7mil poly proxy instanced couple of times with the use of my 6gb ram. However I can imagine a situation like this with 20+ mil. poly where this can be a problem to get inside max directly. So is this a bug? A feature that's not what I thought it was? Or is zbrush producing not the right kind of .obj for external conversion?

not bad for an old 2.4ghz q6600. No other renderer would handle it this well in this time.

Hi guys. I've read in the online help documents that the internal res (default at 2) does not have big impact on rendering speed. However I noticed that using internal res at 1 did gave me some speed gain at certain situations especially when rendering at 4k resolution. However I'm not sure how this setting correlates with AA settings and what value should I really use when rendering with i.res at 1, cause in the online docs there is a note that AA should be at the same value as internal res.

So I did some tests with no AA and rendering at internal res at 1 which was incredibly fast but of course In situations with having object in foreground of bright background I ended up with jagged aliased edges.

Would it make any sense to use box filtering (value of 1) and internal res at 1 or is it the same as no antialiasing at all??

Not sure if bug or if it's already either known or normal thing for HD cache to work this way. It seems it's a "russian roulette" each time I press render the area light either passes through the glass or it won't (did only a 10 minute test max and it doesn't seem to change). Default settings(+hd cache max records-8000). pt+pt looks okay(without that spot)...
