Same here.  Tried 6 Hotfix 1 and R21 and R23 both crash on start up with Corona installed.  Remove the corona folder and r21 and r23 start right up.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / C4D Client app crash

So I have a small render farm with running the client team render app that comes with C4D.  The app crashes not too often but def way more with when rendering Corona projects.  Anyway, basically I am looking for a Windows 10 app that will auto restart the Client app on crash.  I tried RestartOnCrash but it didnt work.  When the client app crashes though, there is a pop up window that says where to find bug report.  And it seems that task manager still thinks the client is running just fine I guess.  So I assume thats why RestartOnCrash didnt work.  Any thoughts on how I could get around that or any other piece of software that might work better to restart crashed clients?

It was 4 dimms...  put 4 3200 DDR4 instead of the 2 2133 and it went from a 1:20 benchmark to 0:37!  Im sure the ram speed had something to do with it as well.  Thanks all very much for the info!!

I was just thinking that I should try 4 sticks instead of the 2.  Makes sense if it the same render speed as the 16core which is 2 channel.  Thanks for the info all.  Ram should be here today, will report back

The manual Saadi to use A1 and C1.  Ordered 3600 ddr4 ram today to test. Will see if that helps. Thanks for the info

Benchmark Scores. (all have 32gb ram DDR4 2133) also put Cinebench Score there as well for reference.

It blows my mind that the Dual 14c is way faster than the 2990wx.  I know that Corona does rely on RAM and other resources, but can anyone explain how the scores are so far off.

Checking the slots now.  I am using 2133 DDR4.  Can that really be the cause of a dramatically reduced Corona render speed?

What ram module would be the best to get if so to get within the 37 sec range?

So I have a 2990wx overclocked to 4.0.  Was noticing that it is about the same render time as my 1950x.  So did the Corona bench 1.3 test and got a time of 1:20s???? What is going on??  I have seen quite a few people with 37-39s for their times.

I am water cooled with 32 GB  (2 x 16gb) ram at 2133 (I know it can go higher but didnt think it would restrict that much) Using the ASUS X399 ROG STRIX E Gaming MB.

Overclocked to 4.0 running voltage at 1.4.

Please any thoughts on where this is going wrong??  The odd part is im getting 5800 or so Cinebench with 2990wx so it seems like it does work in that regard.

How did someone get 37 secs bench time.  I have a 2990wx or to 4.0 with 32 go ram and I had a score of 1:12. What am I doing wrong?

Hello all, So doing some test with v3 and Cinema 4d on my render farm.  I did a medium complex scene with 40 passes and denoising on, no camera move so every computer is rendering the exact same image.  Doing a 700 frame test.  I am getting some very odd render times.
My render farm is a few 22 core 2.1 Xeons, 2 x 32 (OC to 4.0) threadrippers, 2x16 core (OC 4.0) Threadripper, a Dual core 2.6 14 Core Xeon and some other random PCs.
First:
Cinebenchs:
32 core - about 5900
16 Core - 3300
2.1 22 Core Xeons - about 2600
Dual 2.6 14c Xeon - 4650

Now when I render a corona scene on the farm, these are the results (average time)
32c TR - 18 min
16c TR -  20 min
2.1 22 Xeon - 20min
Dual 14c Xeon - 21-22 min

The render pass times also slightly vary at around 20 sec a pass.
Also I checked and on all machines it seems that all cores are pegged at 100% during render

So I guess my big question is what is going on?  I know that I probably wouldn't get a full 200% better performance in the 32c vs the 16c, or the Dual Xeon vs single Xeon, but this definitely seems wrong.  Any thoughts on why the render times are about the same.

Just purchased Corona v3.  Saw in the blog post that the Corona v3 was able to save CXR file formats for later use in the CIE.  For large animations this is a huge help, because you could use a machine with a top end Nvidia card to do the denoising or other post functions, saving a bit of render time on my render farm.  However I see no where to save a CXR in Cinema 4D for network rendering, which is kinda the only place that I feel like I need it at this point. 

Has anyone been able to do this?  Or do we have any info on when this will be implemented?

One other thing why I feel this is so important - (mind you, this was v2 beta issues so....). when I would do large animations on my farm of about 20 servers.  Some AMD thread rippers and Xeon 22 cores, I would find that the C4D client app would crash often when doing certain Corona renders.  I found that it was during the Denoising process.  Turning off the Denoising and upping the sample count was my way around constant crashing.  However if I were able to do the Denoisng on a single machine at the end, it would have been a huge time saver.

I currently looking to do the same thing.  Being able to save CXR and do denoising on a machine later would be a huge help.  Any thoughts on when this might be released?

hey, just started with Corona, coming from Octane.  Having an issue with VFB not continuing to render an image. I hit render and it renders to picture viewer but doesn't continue.  Also all of the tool bar button are greyed out.  Any thoughts?  Using a demo license.
