Thanks a lot!

I hadn’t seen this hotfix was released — just installed it and everything works perfectly now.

Appreciate the quick help!

Hello,

For the past few days, whenever I try to scale or rotate more than one object while Corona Interactive Rendering is running, the selected objects suddenly jump extremely far from the scene's origin. At the same time, I get the following message:

Scene bounding box is too large, some shading artifacts may occur.

This behavior only happens during interactive mode — everything behaves normally when interactive rendering is off.

I’ve tested this on clean, empty scenes with just a few primitives (boxes, spheres, etc.), and the issue still occurs consistently.

I'm using:

3ds Max 2025

Corona 12, Update 2

Is this a known issue? Could it be related to preferences, system units, or something else?

Thanks in advance for any help or insights!

Thank you, Tom, for your response :)

As I mentioned, I’m well aware of the "real" functioning of Cryptomatte. I just thought that the view in the VFB could also be used as a backup solution (even though I know it’s not the proper way to do it). It seems to me that it was usable in the past, but I might be mistaken.

In any case, noted—goodbye to the VFB colors. Thanks :)

Hello,

I have a recurring issue when using Cryptomatte: the colors in the saved file are very different from what is displayed in the VFB, which makes the file unusable (see attachment). I don't encounter any problems when saving in CXR/EXR, but sometimes it's much more convenient to use a PNG directly, so I would like to understand where the problem comes from and what I might be doing wrong.

Thank you!

That’s clearer, thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response. I did notice that disabling ACES OT in the VFB makes the message disappear, but now I’m unsure about the optimal way to address the issue in Max without disrupting the workflow.

Hi,

I am working with 3ds Max 2025, and since updating to Corona 12 update 1, I keep encountering this error message: "Frame buffer uses view transform set in Color Management settings. Using ACES OT with a view transform may lead to incorrect results."

When I click on "Learn more," it redirects me to a 404 page, which isn't very helpful. I'm not very familiar with the color space settings in Max and Corona, so I would like to know how to resolve this issue.

I am also attaching a screenshot of my 3ds Max configuration.

Thank you in advance!

[Max] Bug Reporting / Re: Corona 12 Major Memory Leak

Same problem here, my 100GB of ram used entirely at random when I launch IR, forced to regularly kill the process and relaunch max.

Hello,

I also support this idea; with the arrival of Chaos Vantage, which does not yet support certain maps, baking would be a good workaround for displaying complex textures.

I think my problem is very similar or with a common cause: every time I want to reset my Max window, it crashes in the same way.

I am adding my voice to those of others; this is really a missing feature. Moreover, it was a well-ranked request in the survey you conducted.

My bad, I usually check the latest patches but this time I completely forgot to do this obvious check. It does solve the problem.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.

Hello,

I'm testing 3 textured glass materials for a project. I'm making 3 boxes and I'm texturing: one has lines, the second only roughness and the third a pattern of squares. I'm managing the pattern of the first and third with a normal map.

My problem is performance. My CPU (Threadripper 3970X) only runs at 60% when the windows are boxes, but returns to 100% when I replace them with simple planes. And I honestly don't understand why.

I've tried putting two planes one behind the other (one textured and the other not) > 60%.
A box with IDs where only one side is textured > 60%.
Thinshell on a box > 60%
Plane alone > 100%

In fact I have the impression that there's a problem as soon as there are two surfaces with refraction one behind the other and at least one of the two has a normal map.

Do you have the beginnings of an answer to this?

Thanks in advance.

Great script, saved a lot of time and dev who took the time to correct the errors with the FR version of max.

Thanks!
