Title: What type of BSDF is this ?
Post by: dubcat on 2015-10-22, 18:36:09
I was poking around in the "Additional Params" just for shits and giggles. And I noticed that BSDF 1 looks more like V-Ray GGX with 0 glossiness. What type of BSDF is this ?

That was my first thought. I did a Ward test in V-Ray and it appeared white, so I got kinda confused. Thanks for the answer :)

Right click on the material and select "Show All Additional Params".

Thats iteresting... it seems that its only avaliable in slate edtitor mode (im still using classic). So 1 = Ward, 3 is ggx (by default right?) and what is 0 and 2?

Why do you even need this? If it's hidden, it most probably means that you should not touch it.

I found it some time ago and asked about it here on forum (https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,6471.msg43950.html#msg43950). After that I didn't use it until I got problem with glowing edges with low values of glossiness. This switcher helped me to solve this problem couple of times (I used it this way   https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,6471.msg43950.html#msg43950).
This is just an answer to your question about use of it. I do not propagate this method, I still don't know what is realy wrong with it, but it helped me.

Edit
Sorry, wrong link, I used it this way https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,9858.msg63201.html#msg63201
