Title: sss material
Post by: metken345 on 2015-10-22, 14:36:50
I can get ideal result when I render with PT method creating sss material. I get different result when I render with BDPT method the same material. Is it possible if I render the sss material with BDPT method?

parameters:
Refraction : 1.0
absorbtion : color green 0,35
scattering: 0

result: with pt :ok
with bdpt: diffrent material like gloss and refract material (I dont want this)

BDPT is an experimental renderer, and it does not support most of the Corona features. You should generally avoid it.

So, what can I do if there are both caustic and sss material in the scene? Caustic can't be rendered with PT.

Nothing, I am afraid :)

You can use PT+PT and set MSI value really high, to something like 500. It will render caustics, but it will render them very slow.

Unfortunately at the moment, Corona does not have any production-proof method to render sharp caustics. It is planned in future though. Maybe if you could post some reference of what you are trying to achieve, I could at least come up with some way to fake the result :)
