Title: Kitchen, by Peter Zumthor
Post by: fla on 2015-10-16, 15:33:08
Hello!

This is my first personal project in Corona for C4D. Well known Peter Zumthor's atelier in Switzerland.
There is some noise on the leather material on chairs and bench, I guess I'd have to wait a bit longer (or maybe the bump is to high?) Still need to figure that out.
Trees were made in Onyx.

Done in corona A3, a4 is too buggy atm.
Comments & critiques welcomed!

regards,
matej

Software: Cinema4d, Corona a3, LightRoom + Photoshop, Onyx

(c) some other small object from Evermotion

Left it during the night. 9hrs...4000px3000px
Maybe there's too much DOF? fstop=10 though

The image looks compressed a lot. Could you upload raw file?

Here are some suggestions about the noise in reflections:
-DoF is clearly visible, so you should decrease GIvsAA value to 4-8 to get optimal results (more AA is required)
-not sure about C4D version, but in 3ds Max sun object has an option to disable sun visibility in reflections - that would definitely help in this case, but would make the image less realistic
-you can try lowering reflectivity of that leather/wood material and maybe decreasing glossiness (making reflections more blurry)
-what is your internal resolution value in render settings? I would suggest using 2, but it may eat a lot of RAM in this resolution (it should help with fireflies, though)

Tnx @maru.

There is an option for disabling Sun reflection in CoronaC4d too.
I'll try lowering the reflectivity.
Internal res=1 atm.

Personally I really like! I like the angle, the details and the overalls.

By looking at the chairs I'd say the bump might be a little too high (if it is the bumps fault). The compression though is rather poor (to the point of emphasizing DOF) although that in itself is kind of refreshing to see in a way as most renders these days are super sharp.

Great stuff!

Apreciate it @nkilar !

PS: I'm attaching a version with less noise on the chairs (I've reduced level of reflection) & new CC.
