hi guys,
I have a small kind of interior scene, check the attachment. using the latest dailybuild 15-09-05, I got an error message "scene bounding box is too large, some shading artifacts may occur". i ignored the message and the results seems okay. the scene is just 20 square meters, 123MB.
I don't really understand to "scene bounding box", what is it? appreciate for any explanation
update:
after click render button, "too large scene bounding box" is disappear. so it is only appear when run the IR.. is it a bug or something i should understand.

Scene bounding box shows how far scene objects extends from world origin point to each side. Your scene maybe just 20 m wide but if it's located some kilometers from origin point, bounding box will be huge. Also it depends on sistem units you're working with. If system units are set to millimeters, 20 m will result in 20000 system units.
OTOH there is possibility that you discovered bug of Corona's new error messaging system :]
-
can you upload me the scene? It should not fire for 20 meters scene at any condition
-
of course i will upload the scene but when my internet connection is stable enough (sorry connection is so unstable these days). my objects is a bit away from origin point. yes in mm, i always use mm system units. and I use max 2016

can you upload just the box, and everything else deleted, if it still produces the problem? There should be no warning until you input 100 000 000 as the value.

ok i'll try
I've just uploaded the real scene in https://corona-renderer.com/upload/ but ended with error page. i'll upload the boxes only.
but I don't understand what do you mean about 100 000 000 value input.. where do I have to input it?

Maybe you have something messed in these settings? (not sure if this could have any impact)

I think Ondra wanted to say that Corona should give you no warning message until your scene's bounding box won't exceed 100 000 000 system units.

ah ok, I got it :)
I've simplified the scene and it's still showed error message when run IR. uploaded it in https://corona-renderer.com/upload/ but I don't know why it is always resulted in error page (using ie browser, win7).
check the attachment for the scene (win 7, max 16, corona latest build)

I tried the scene and I get no error, the scene bounding box is as expected. Can you try this build and copy the error message: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5426917/Release.zip?
-
Got the error today with "2015-09-06" Daily build on Max 2016.
The scene contains a single 8192mm x 8192mm plane. This was with interactive render.
Uploaded the scene with "Private uploader"

hi ondra, there is two kinds of dll-update inside the rar. I've tried both kinds but i got error on first run the max. "error loading plug-in dll".. error code 126.
-
all of my scene got "scene bounding box is too large, some shading artifacts may occur". eventhough when i start a new empty scene and create 1 box right at the origin point.. and change the units setup to any unit scale. it is still occur.
win7 SP1, 3ds max 2016, corona 1.3 dailybuild sep 8 2015.
i think it is the time for moderator to move this thread to bugs section.

I made a 50x50x50mm box and fired up IR, same error.
Scene bounding box is too large, some shading artifacts may occur.
Scene bounding box is (minX minY minZ maxX maxY maxZ): 1.#INF 1.#INF 1.#INF -1.#INF -1.#INF -1.#INF
-
ok, that looks like a bug, I will investigate

Fixed, thanks for reporting as always!

great news, thanx! :D
