Title: Proxy uvw mapping
Post by: insersuppr on 2015-08-26, 10:58:03
hi, guys,
In my scene I have several identical objects ( several thousand), to simplify the scene and its management they are proxies and instances.
the problem is they all have exactly the same mapping.
how can I add an uvw map to all of them or can I add a unique uvw map modifier to each of theme or how can I move or rotate their mapping to have a different appearance.

There is no way to add a uvw map directly to the proxy, I found that by adding an edit mesh modifier the UVW Map could be added. The trouble is I can modify the mapping in the viewport, but the render image isn't affected.

Any suggestions.

I do not know what kinds of objects they are (people? buildings?) but you could simply create few variations of objects (not the proxies but original objects) with different uvws and then save them as few different proxies. You can also use CoronaMultiMap to create color variation between materials on different objects. More details about the scene would be appreciated. :)
