hi guys
We try to create simple scene, same environment with two light configurations
we had some problems with displacement on the wall testing new version in 1.2
but the result is good

i think the bricks don't look like bricks in terms of displacement, a little less would be better as mortar usually slightly curves toward the edge of the brick

if you observe a real brick wall, the mortar is never smooth and straight, and weaves in and out at different places, it is often as random as the bricks themselves in terms of position. Your flat mortar gives away the entire wall making it look unrealistic.

He means that the mortar joint is most likely concave. It can be many types of profiles, but architecturally concave is the best option due to moisture buildup.
