Hi,
I don't know if you have my same experience. But, for interior scene, contrast parameter isn't useful.
I prefer to play in PS and create "S" curve to improve the contrast.
In my test, contrast is too strong. Black colors become too dark, and the white doesn't change too much.
Maybe it will be useful if "contrast" in Corona will work like "S" curve in PS.
And, add a new parameter: "Black level" and "White level" as "Level" parameter in PS.
What do you think?

s-curve will be added when I rewrite the frame buffer

I had the same experience, that option is crazy sensitive, you increase it just a bit and your shadow will become pure black like in example above ;)
-
It is not sensitive, it just does not work right. It burns black instead adding contrast.

Good to know, I'm not alone =) Waiting new VFB
-
No, you're not alone ;)
And in colors image (not B/W), it works worse. But, IMHO I prefer to work with photoshop for the post, so actually I don't consider this a limit or a problem, I simply don't use it ;)
Of course, if the next release of FB will works better, also a little bit of contrast setting could help our images!

That would be great! :-)
