How long did it take to render on which machine? 

The render quality is really nice!  the overall balance is also really nice. 

I understand it's the current trend but I often find that the IKEA lets just through random items everywhere, that have no practical or logical reason to be where they are, just to fill up the space with nice looking models -  look gets a bit too much sometimes. 

Basically it's a REALLY nice looking mess :P     keep it up.

Antialiasing on windows... did you try Internal resolution=2 ?

Ok... you can set the Internal resolution in the Frame Buffer panel - Image filter and you can change it from 1 to 2 when antialiasing problems are visible on the edges with highlights (for example a strong light coming from outside). Maybe this is your case.
