Hi there,
I'm working on a shared production between two studios and my studio is handling animation and lighting. The other one is looking after modelling, texturing and previz.
Our studio is going to purchase approximately 5 Corona 1.00.02 licenses. But the other studio is asking about installing Alpha V6 to build their assets, then pass onto us to light/render in 1.00.02.
Will this situation work going from Alpha to the full version of Corona?
Also, here, the animators PC's will not have any version of Corona installed, will this cause issues for them when they open scenes coming in from the other studio?
I hope I am clear here in what I am trying to ask, thanks.

Texturing - if this will also include material creation, then A6 and 1.0 use different shading model. There may be visible difference in appearance of reflections, especially glossy ones. Normal maps are also loaded a bit different:

If you will be adding lights - then there should be no problems with them. If you would take a Corona light from A6 to newer version, there could be a problem (for some manual tweaking required).

If these scenes will contain Corona materials, lights, etc, and they don't have Corona installed then they simply won't be able to save the scene with all these features. But if they only need to animate some object, then this shouldn't be a problem - you can just load it back into a scene on a pc where Corona is installed and apply material again. That's how I see it.

Thanks for the reply Maru. Looks like I will be ruling this out straight away.

Be aware that the materials in A6 don't behave in the same way that in 1.0, so you probably will need to do some adjustments once the other studio send you the assets.
Cheers!
