Hi, there is a new release of mayaToCorona:
release 0.36
- fixes near/far clipping #173
- fixed displacement mapping water level.
- fixed a subdiv per face shading crash. #91 (reopened/reclosed)
- fixed bump mapping (I hope). #153
- refactured large parts of the framework
- implemented udims #174
- fixed broken lighting with per face shading #176
- interactive color mapping #179
- fixed a motionblur regression
-
-Textures is still very slow rendering
-Many crashes when connect file node
-
Yes, textures have to be converted to tx files, but they do not yet work correctly.
Do you have a repeatable example for "crash wenn connecting file node"?

Create "Corona surface"- click checker box on "diffuse color"- appear "Create render node window"-
select "File node" - crash all time.
If create "File node" in hypershade and connect in shader - work fine.

Ah, okay. I'll have a look.

quick slightly off-topic question.
Does this build already support the upcoming maya 2016? Like do you guys have beta/pre-release access so you can compile it now? or is that something that will be released later?
Just wondering as Im assuming maya 2016 (and the rest of the autodesk products) will be released in a week or two as per usual, and it would be great to test maya with corona, all the latest :D

mayaToCorona will work with Maya2016, I already have a working plugin. But no special Maya2016 features are supported yet. So there will be no difference to the Maya2015 plugin.

Alright, fair enough. But good to hear! thanks.
I am slowly trying to plan my steps of making a career change from max to maya, and would love to take Corona with me :D

Well please let us know when we can download the maya2016 build. thank you!

The plugin will be available as soon as Maya2016 is released unless you are a Maya beta tester and sigend a NDA with Autodesk. Then I could make a special build for you.

Haggi, any plans on OSX version?
-
First we need a OSX version of corona itslef before we can think about a OSX plugin.

Dooh :) sorry.

Hi Haggi,
I get lots of crashes if I do render region then the next one, I do a full render.
Also a lot of black frames and renders not stopping. It's hard to test .35 and .36 because of this. :(
.34 was the most stable release.
-
Yes, as mentioned, these crashes are expected because a lot of the underlying framework has changed. But this was .36 only, .35 had the old one and should be more stable. Please report any problem you have as exact as possible, it helps me finding the bug. I'll check the render region thing.

Fair enough, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks.
I appreciate your work on this plugin - love getting that update notice! :)
