Title: 3D Max 2012 exit to desktop after "CANCEL" render
Post by: hrisek on 2015-03-27, 12:23:45: 3D Max 2012, Corona 1.00.01. Scene was created with Corona Alpha 7.2. Now when i want to stop rendering animation, i'm pressing "CANCEL" (not STOP in Corona VFB), after this 3D Max is crashing and going straight to desktop...no error code, no blue screen, just exit and close program...
next problem - when i'm rednering the same animation (the same scene), animation is calculated only in 3-4 frames, time to time 15 frames and 3D Max is rapidly closing and with no error is going to desktop...I tested UHD cache, path tracing, Hd Cache (legacy) and always 3d max is calculating only few frames.
I'm not able to prepare any animation.

How are you rendering your animation? Using render setup, active segment/range+render output or batch render/network render/backburner/DR?

I would suggest running corona converter, just to try, it should convert all legacy features to new ones:

Post by: hrisek on 2015-03-27, 13:05:56: I'm rendering on ONE workstation (24 cores), frames 0 to 500, full resolution (1280x720) not a region render, i'm rendering straight from 3D Max, not using DR or backburner.

Post by: hrisek on 2015-03-27, 13:40:43: There is NO messages at any point...2 minutes ago i stopped render (3000x2120 px), this time i used STOP button from VFB Corona...it happend again - 3D Max closes rapidly and there is no messages, no info, no warnings...And it's terrible - after STOP button was pressed, render should be saved but this time no - no files saved after (local disk, i'm not using network path for outputs), 3d max exit to desktop...

Post by: hrisek on 2015-03-27, 13:53:06: Hm...I'm looking on my monitor, no flashing "icons" about new messages, nothing just my desktop...in ONE second i see 3D Max and in next second i see desktop...i can see any warnings, hidden windows or icons, no messages...nothing :(

Post by: hrisek on 2015-03-27, 15:36:33: Actually i installed Corona 1.00.02 and i used last converter to have 100% sure that all materials are compatible.
I'm making strong tests with 5 scene now. 3 scenes loaded from previous version of Corona (7.2) and 2 scenes made from scratch in new Corona. Probably i have to spent a lot of time to do many configurations and variable settings - i suppose that i will have some more info in next 4-5 days. I'm lucky because I have no dedadline i nexe 7 days...in other case i will have convert all scenes to vray again :(
