Title: new material have egg shape instead of sphere
Post by: claudyo on 2015-03-01, 10:20:57
It's ok to look like this. This happen with every new material I make. For materials from legacy like a7 it's ok.

this is interesting. Does it happen always, even in new scene? Did you change the material editor settings in any way? HOw do the standard 3dsmax previews (when you turn custom mtl previews off) look?

Yes, even with a new scene still have that egg shape. But only in sphere, tube and cube works ok.
And I counter another problem with interactive= I save the scene with one viewport in perspective and one in interactive mode, and now when I open the scene it opens as saved, but only thing I can do is click on interactive viewport to activated, otherwise no mater I do its crash my max and close it. I know I did  a stupid mistake but how can I recover my scene?

I do not fully understand what is happening. You could try merging old scene into a new one?

I think I found the problem. I imported one object who has bercon maps used in shaders, but I didn't have bercon maps instaled and because it was the last object I put it in the scene, I want to see if I merged the old scene into oane and exclude that object if would work, and it works. So I assume that was the problem for crasing error. Let see with that egg shape where it goes :). Thx Maru for sugestion.

Can you post a screenshot of material editor when you enable the checker texture and create a mirror material?
