I can´t run the installer or the manually unpacked LicensingServer.exe on our (yes i know: older ;) windows server 2003 which is used here to handle all software licenses (dongled or not) in our lan. Realy would like to avoid mixing things up and use another server or -even worse- workstation to handle the corona licenses.
LicensingServer.exe: File is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine
Installer:. Corona_1.00.00.exe is no valid Win32 application
Any chance?
(Didn´t put that into the bugtracker because I don´t consider this to be a real bug, or maybe yes - I don´t know yet)

The licensing server is a 64 bit application. I will see if I can make it 32 bit - there is no reason for it to stay 64 bit (other than its source code being actually mostly copied from 64bit DR server ;))
-
Sure, but it´s always a matter of maintaining versions/tweaking the installer I fear. For me it would be just wonderful to have a stand alone 32bit download somewhere so our licenses could be up´n running within the next 3 Weeks.
Congratulations btw. to 1.00.00.000000000000! - and to your optimistic approach ;)

the server is now a 32bit application in release 1.00.02

Doesn´t seem so to me: "LicensingServer.exe is no valid Win32 application"
- downloaded https://download.corona-renderer.com/builds/3dsmax/Corona_1.00.02.zip
- extracted manually out of the installer
- in extracted folder "LicensingServer" there is only one (no runtime libs this time?) file: LicensingServer.exe, Size 5.055.136 Bytes, digital timestamp: Monday 16. March 2015 21:37:26
- running this file on the server results in "LicensingServer.exe is no valid Win32 application"
?
-
what windows version are you using? The application is x86
-
As I wrote in the initial post: windows server 2003
(Standard Edition / Service Pack 2 / Shell says Windows Version 5.2.3790)
-
btw: did you run the installed on the same machine?
Windows server 2003 is based on Windows XP... so it is possible that it is just too old OS, missing some functions needed. We are not even testing on Windows XP, it is just too old system that we do not support.
-
No, I unpacked the installer archive on a Workstation. When trying to execute Corona_1.00.02.exe on the server I get the same "no valid Win32 application" error. Just because I´m curious about that I will try to run it on a old XP/win32 laptop to see if the "server edition" is the problem.
But please don´t care about that any longer, I totally agree on cutting off legacy stuff. better go hunting and finxing DR-rendering bugs instead ;)
Thanks and good luck!

ok, it seems to be a problem if windows version.
