have a little problem trying to recreat this test from the maxwell forum

and getting some weird spot on my glass as you can see.
happens in random spots each time I rerender

here is another render and the splotches are now in a different location

also some more info about the scene
I reduced this scene down to one light using a rectangular corona light

Real work units are being used as well.

Are you using path tracing + hd cache/uhd cache?

i havent tried this scene in awhile but I think the 1.0 version has fixed this.  I will try it out later when I get home.

Here are some tests. I am not sure how close to original I recreated this. Note "splotchy" shadow near the edge o the tube in UHD-still, animation preset seems to fix this. I think the splotches inside of the tube (in hd cache) are caused by hd cache taking care of caustics.

yeah that looks a lot better,
your right about the UHD, I pretty sure the version I tested this on did not have it at the time. Sorry I got home late last night and did not have time to test.  Thank you again.
