Hi,
as in the title, "Show Shaded material in viewport" (button gray-out in the Material editor) not works.
Is it possible to solve this problem?
Thank =)

You should use the button from a bitmap or other map, then it will be active and working.
-
I know, but without this "option" no one of these tools work.
They are very useful to show in one "shot" all the textures in viewport.
Without it's not possible... or very difficult and time consuming! :-(

it's yes.

This might be useful.
Also: turning on viewport visibility for ColorMapper map = sudden death.

fixed.
About the main issue: I tried it, it kept crashing, so I reverted it since it is not a big deal. In time I need to get into the ADN program to get info about how to integrate the materials/other objects into viewport (especially nitrous) better.
-
Thank you Keymaster for the attention =)
-
So, now, in the new build, can we turn off & on the texture with the 3ds max default tools? =) Good!
-
No, but I won't be able to do anything about it for a while, so I've put it into my internal "when I have autodesk support" todo ;)
-
Ahh.. ok.. I hope soon =) Because is very useful tool . Good luck with AD

is there any solution for this??? this is driving me crazy, and i have to do a fast render to see what i'm doing everytime,..
-
It's nice to have this option, but I don't know why it's _that_ necessarry. I mean, if you want to have your bitmap mapped to an object, than you can enable it to be shown in the viewport. Otherwise I think you can configure your materials and their details in the material editor quite well (in my opinion, Corona has the far best material preview, especially if you increase the quality of it in the corona settings). For the overall feeling usually a diffuse map or color is enough in my opinion.

Hey carloslogg,
If you do find a solution for the "show shaded material in viewport" issue. Please post. Its also driving me crazy - I can't get along without it! :(
-
And for me is very difficult without it.... i can't see how the material looks like in my scene....
-
i have the same problem- the button "show shaded material in viewport" is simply not active. please, help to solve the problem:(
-
Come on, seriously. Just click that button inside of the bitmap, not the material itself, but bitmap you want to show up in viewport. It's that simple. No, you really do not have to do dozens of test renders to show mapping, you can simply view the textures in viewport.
-
Thank you, it's working!

Hello!, im from the future! and been having this same problem. And this topic is the first and only thing i found on google so i just want to post my solution here for anyone having the same problem like me.
I encounter this problem when i convert normal and vray materials to corona. And the solution is to click this button here

The show material in viewport is still unclickable but you dont need to click it because the material is now automatically show in viewport anyway.
