Title: Show error messages
Post by: blank... on 2015-01-16, 22:27:16
I'm not saying Corona needs this since we all know Corona is infallible and to say otherwise would be blasphemy :D but there are certain situations when Render Message window popping up would be a good thing.
For example if object with unsupported material is left in the scene (i know, it renders red, just an example).

Something like "Corona console"?

same old story :/ Tried it, it actually does not work in 3dsmax... now I am faced with decision, should I implement my own window, like vray?

I don't like Vray's log window for two reasons:
- it's popping up everytime when I forget to disable it and..
- not having the info when I disabled it but would need it (after rendering)

It's just a quick thought but I'd either go for a new rollout in the system tab (not quite convinced myself) or just integrate in the Vfb, same way as the DR log already is. Maybe just replace "DR" with "Log".

Yes, VRayLog was very annoying sometimes. DeadClown idea is better! +1

You should definitely avoid annoying windows that pop up and/or halt your rendering. But some kind of subtle information like "warning! unsupported materials in scene" could be a life saver. Maybe putting it in dr/log tab is a good idea indeed.

Damn, what ever i ask for Max shoots me down :D But i also like DeadClowns idea, having a log in VFB seems like a really nice way of solving it. Not just unsupported materials, missing proxies, unsupported lights, you know, just open a Corona scene with mental ray :)

log in VFB sounds nice, but make it hidden by default.. it will make the VFB away from the "simplicity".
and for the error report from any cause, it can be handled with popup windows like attached image.
