Title: Ikea kitchen
Post by: vehr on 2014-12-16, 20:27:34
Hi,

Some of my last work: Ikea competition in Poland.
Small kitchen for family of four.
Only honorable mention in competition. but the best realism :D

When attending the EUE last summer, there was an IKEA representive telling about the amount of 3D images they produce for their catalogue. Stunning to hear that almost 80% of their kitchen pictures are actually 3D images. It was a large investment but nowadays it's paying of because they don't have to build entire kitchen studios, alternatives and so on.

The difference between the IKEA catalogue images and these ones are in my opinion the proportions of the furniture and most of all the post production. I think it's a little bit to soft. Other than that it's very well done. The behaviour of the light is very convincing.

Are you corona sun + sky settings tweaked? I'm having a lot of problems with getting my white scenes to look white - they tend to either look too blue or warm.
