Title: Arch. competition
Post by: kehlje on 2014-10-19, 18:59:30
Hi forum, I'm an architecture grad student with a strong interest in visualization. I really enjoy rendering (especially in Corona) though I have so much more to learn. Here are some images in progress which are for a design competition I'm working on right now; the project is a boutique hotel in the woods in china. I rely on photoshop a lot in making these; which I wish wasn't the case.

I like them overall. One thing that caught my eye is the fact that the reflections of people are very precise and somewhat unrealistic and also very reflective. In other words, it seems photoshoped in, and probably they are. So I think you should just make them a bit more subtle. I don't do people in my renderings, so probably I'm not the best to give you guidance on how to do it, but definitely caught my eye.

Overal impression is OK, still requere a looooot of work with materials and UVs.

Thanks, padre -- you're right about that -- recommendation heard and I'll remember that in the future.

Yup, you're right Nekro... my savvy with materials is very rudimentary. I realize that's one of the crucial parts of creating a good image so it's something I'm going to work on. Maybe the best way to really learn about it is to practice generating my own textures. I plan to do that for an upcoming project. Thanks for the feedback!
