Title: Question about CoronaLight
Post by: Spark on 2013-03-15, 16:43:29
Is it possible to make CoronaLight invisible to reflections/refractions? I can't find such parameter.

If not, I think, a lot of people would like to find this parameter at newer builds ;)

there will be one "disable visibility" checkbox in Alpha 4

Great! Thank you for fast reply )

One more question.
I need to scale spherical CoronaLight. But when light is scaled, scene renders incorrect, all picture is very overbrighted.

Is it bug or feature?

Non-uniform scaling of spherical lights is not supported yet, use a geometry emitted instead.

thanks
But it seems that emitted geometry causes much more noise, then lights :(

yes, but only spherical lights can be easily sampled better

Maybe it't possible to add rounded light to the following versions? Or it won't be differences between it and emitted geometry?

It would not pay off, best I can do is to internally triangulate such lights to meshes.

I render simple interior. Here are two renders.
I use emitted geometry in the other room, which totally has no connections with this room. One render with emitters , second with hidden emitters.

In the theory, those emitters can't affect to the lightning of this room, but they noises picture a lot.

What happens in the other room does affect this one. For all you know, there could be an atomic bomb explosion seen through the keyhole. There are some methods to automatically detect what is important and what not, but they are not used in praxis, because they have many caveats.

2 Spark: Can you post your scene (empty)?
I can not get the same effect :(
