Some recent renders created for MBUSA with 3ds Max and Corona.
-
amazing
-
are the caustics on the ground also rendered in corona?
-
it is probably direct light from IES lights

No. On the third image (green color), I rendered a reflective caustics pass in mental ray for that particular effect.
Correct, the headlight "caustics" pattern is from an IES light from within Corona.
-
I'd sell this to Mercedes-Benz , i think they would love it as we do :D
-
+1 for a caustic pass in CORONA!!!!.
Starting to search how to achieve caustic pass in mental ray.

Nice work Jeff, can you make some making of? I would know your lighting workflow works. Where did you get the midel from, it looks like a original model.

Ludvik's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs2_xl1wPY8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs2_xl1wPY8) pretty much sums up the workflow. With that as the foundation I typically create/modify HDRs/EXRs (usually with HDR Light Studio) in order to emphasize the vehicle body lines and/or specific parts.

Great work, but i don't like IES visible pattern... remove it :D
-
Drives me bonkers too...but client likes it. :/
-
NOOOOOOO don't let client give you hard time, that is why you need to buy baseball bat. If they could 99% of clients would drape in gold feathers and that doesn't mean they are right.
Btw. why didn't you do one in tunnel usually MB want one in like that.

Those are some sexy renders, man! Very, very nice!
-
Simply amazing work Jeff, like always - love it! And yeah, I am also up for removing those IES patterns :D
-
