Title: Luitpold hall
Post by: Tandu on 2014-08-15, 08:13:43
Hall for party congresses in Nuremberg. The building was destroyed by bombardment in 1942

Interesting topic. We don't see much of this kind of visualizations, but I like the overall look. For me the flag in the middle would benefit from extra attention. It looks a little bit flat.

Do you have any plans where you based the modelling?

why is it bad?, is the reconstruction and no more.
why not ask to remove portal Nazis in wikipedia?
Some see interesting work, others see horror.
people stop afraid to history.

Expect this kind of hate reactions. Probably they just rip off these pages from the history books and forget that this was reality.

Anyway, I found quite interesting this kind of work and really reminds me History Channel. Just keep posting.

Guys, what the hell? It's just a re-creation of a historic building. Would you say the same about a WW2 aeroplane with swastikas on its wings? "Bad idea"? :D

It is merely a recreation of an architectural creation. It shows the past, and does not in any way try to shape the future. Regardless, I like the render. It looks good, even though the flags could probably use a little more attention.

Well, there's lot of swastikas in new Wolfenstein game, and no one is complained either. But then again, it could have been presented with a bit more subtlety :)

As for the render, i would imagine some more dramatic weather, to give it some mood. Imagine rainy evening for example :)

This is how Wolfenstein looks in Germany though :- D

Great work. I think the sky don't fit the overall ambiance, your lighting is bright sunny the that sky do not reflect it, match one to the other, would be better to use a HDR I guess.

I noticed now that the swastika in front of the building needs to be 45° rotated right-facing to be a nazi swastika.

There are some weird overreactions in this thread. I guess it is a different culture thing... but that render could easily be published in a history textbook, it is not offensive in any way.

Thank you for supporting admin and moderators.
I assumed this reaction some people.
I chose this building as an example of totalitarian architecture, with a lot of symbolism and epic proportions. I like nazi architecture, this legacy Rome Empire multiplied the technical capabilities of the 20th century and totalitarianism.
Volkshalle top the Twilight genius Albert Speer, maybe I'll start it  in the future sometime.
Now working on a communist monument Buzludja, a very interesting building

PS: the past will harm, if his forget.

Cool render, but its anti-humanist.
