Title: Corona converter "issues"
Post by: bcarnevalli on 2025-09-12, 12:22:49
Hello,

I am having a hard time lately with corona converter, specially using it with imported sketchup models, that has physical materials on them, but with stuff coming from vray as well.

When converting sketchup, often times some materials comes with the diffuse map linked to an opacity slot on corona material. Something that is very weird, and it´s taking a lot of time to fix all of that manually.
?
Also, why a Corona Mix is applied to SSS amount lately on these? There´s no point and that could take some extra memory to compute on a large amount of materials.

Tks!

Have you tried the latest Corona 14 Preview Build, that has several improvements to the conversion of materials (while set up for Cosmos imports, I think it should have an effect here too...)

"Removed empty CoronaMix map plugged into SSS amount"

I am not sure if that might also change the odd diffuse/opacity crossover, but it would be good to know if it does make any difference.

If the Preview doesn't fix these things, or if you can't test it, please send in a scene with one of these materials that doesn't convert as expected and we can test it here (easiest way is a ticket, and you can attach the scene to that, https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - thanks!)
