I’ve been experimenting with photographic exposure recently, and I’m wondering if there’s any benefit (accuracy?) to using it over other options like simple exposure or auto exposure?

The only "accuracy" with photographic exposure is that you can mimic a real world camera. That's all there is to it.
Personally for me, simple exposure is the way to go, I don't remember when was the last time I used photographic exposure.

If I may add a little bit to it, I think with "accuracy" here it is meant accuracy in terms of your F-Stop to ISO ratios and things like that. With simple exposure you can technically have a crazy low F-Stop and slow shutter speed but have a dark exterior render - something that would be rather hard to achieve in the real world.
There is no "it'll look more realistic" bonus to it beyond constraining your workflow so you don't get the rather unusual lighting / camera combo scenarios.
