Chaos Corona for 3ds Max => [Max] I need help! => Topic started by: notoriousbug on 2025-08-22, 11:02:08

Hi everyone, I can't figure out how it's possible that when I open a 3D model, it doesn't find any textures, but in the material preview everything looks fine. How can I figure out which textures it's not finding? Checking asset tracking, everything seems fine. Maybe I'm missing a specific plugin?

Error says that map plugin is missing, not a texture. So you need to figure out what 3rd party plugin was used when the materials were authored. The preview is visible probably because of cache.

Thanks a lot Rommulus, but are you saying that if the creator of the file didn't write it, it can't be understood in other ways?

I'm sure the information must be there in the scene file, but i don't know any way how to retrieve it, sorry.

After some googling, i found that Max has missing plugin explorer (tools>all global explorers>missing plugin object explorer). You can give it a try and see if it gives you any clues on what plugin is missing.

You can also try running the Max Scene Converter (not the Corona one!). It should list missing plugins.
