Title: cxr_layers in Photoshop File
Post by: tuami on 2024-12-20, 10:52:40
We use Cinema 4D 2025 and Corona 13 daily build. We export PSD files, and recently, there are CXR layers in the PSD file that are making the file huge. Is this a known issue.
Thanks

Hi,

Any updates on this? The PSD files have become quite large, and now each file has CXR_Layers on top with gray noisy colors. We’re rendering via TeamRender, in case that helps narrow down the issue.

Thanks and best regards,
tuami

Hello @tuami,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Are you able to share the test scene with us for further investigation?
If so, I suggest submitting a new support ticket so you can attach/upload your files there.
(Please make sure to include all necessary assets for the scene project; you can use the "Save project with assets" tool from the File menu in C4D)
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

hi bnji,
just a simple scene, scene is attached, be sure to render it via teamrenderer.

Hello @tuami,

Thank you for the scene, I'll try reproducing the issue on my end and will let you know my findings.
Kind regards.

Edit:
This has been already reported to the dev team.

Is there any known workaround for this? Beyond generating huge EXRs, it also is causing network renders to fail due to memory shortages.

@sszyszka Not sure if this would help you now, but when using TeamRender in the past, I had to adjust the packet size I believe it was. Basically limiting how large the chunks of information C4D/Corona will send over the network at a time. I honestly to recall exactly how to do it and it may not fix your failed renders, but it just might. There is a thread of mine from a few years ago on this topic.
