Hi, please check this guide: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4528607727249-How-to-use-Team-Render-Distributed-Rendering-in-C4D

Let us know if anything is unclear!

hello! effectively, it's unclear: I rent 4 computers on a render farm... on each one, I just install team render client, not a full c4d... Is it enough to install corona?  is it ok with 5 machines, one "master" and 4 nodes?

Hi Celmar,

Your 'Master' computer needs a full licenced copy of Cinema 4D and a full licenced copy of Corona Renderer.
Each render node needs Cinema 4d team render and Corona renderer installed. When you attempt to install Corona Render on each node, it will recognise the version of Cinema 4D and install in the appropriate folder for team render to locate it and load successfully.
For the nodes to operate with your master computer, you need to have Corona renderer node licences for each one and these are bought separately from your original Corone Renderer purhase. When you have bought enough node licences, the Chaos Licence Server on each node will be allowed to run with team render.

damned, I was thinking it was the same than C4d... the price of five nodes isnt really competitive, versus a render farm, it seems! bad news!!!

Though I suspect you already checked in the right place, just to be sure - the pricing for Render Node only versions of Corona is on https://www.chaos.com/corona/render-nodes (in other words, you don't pay for a full Corona license for the render nodes). Also, if you have maintained an unbroken subscription since before Corona 8 was released, then you do have 3 historical Render Node licenses included already.

C4D does include render nodes for their inbuilt engine, but not for Redshift - for Redshift you have to buy full Redshift licenses for your other machines (they have no reduced "render node only" version of the Redshift license).

Whether this works out cheaper than paying a Render Farm company will depend on just how often you need to render on more than one machine.

OK, Tom, I spoke too soon... deception... of course, it depends on your needs, and for free lances, it's always a balance that's not too easy... I feel like I've been subscribing to corona for a long time, but how do I know it was version 8? and does that mean I could use 3 nodes? (which was enough for me, in fact, on this ‘tight’ budget!

in fact, Tom,  searching in my mails, i found an old suscription, with 3 nodes...( COR210626-3909-73141B) does it means that I can use 3 nodes????

So long as that subscription has remained active without interruption, you should still have those (any cancellation and renewal will have negated those though). You can check the license server to see what licenses you have, or send in a ticket to ask them to check the account for you if there's any confusion (https://support.chaos.com/requests/new )
