Title: polygon edges
Post by: Nils_FR on 2024-10-17, 17:09:31
Dear All,

I am trying to create a "line-drawn" architectural render using the corona render in C4D. I imported a basic building geometry from Rhino and applied a material to it, which uses the wire-shader to display the outline of the geoemtry. The rhino-import usually creates messy polygons, which i cleaned using "melt". Even though, the original edges are not visible anymore in the viewport, the rendered image still shows the edges of the uncleaned geometry.

I'd like to ask, if there is a possibility to get rid of the original division of the polygons?

Thanks a lot!
Nils

Hi,

Corona lack a proper Toon shader, which would be ideal for what you're looking to achieve. Wire Shader is more targetted toward rendering wireframe and meshes topology.

You can use the Standard Renderer with Cel Renderer Effect or the Sketch and Toon Effect.
Switch to the Standard Renderer and add one or the other with the Effects... button in the bottom left corner.

Cel renderer outlines the object, just multiply the result over your render in PS.

Sketch and Toom is a bit more complex but allows many possibilities.
