Hello guys, im newbie so maybe this is dumb question :).. As you can see on pic if i lower the sun pool water is dark, and when the sun is set as daylight its good. How can i fix this?
Thanks everyone

Adding caustics?

Hi,
Most probably you have the water without the caustics (Caustics are off), which causes the inner shadows to not be calculated.
The solution, which is to "brighten up" the water, is about mostly understanding how the water model and material are setup (is it a volume or a plane, is it enclosed or not).
As a first thing, you can try enabling caustics for the water and also do not forget to enabled the caustics solver.

Is the same with or without caustics... Also depth is 500cm, i tried 250, 500cm is always the same. When the sun is stronger i mean above the house its ok

Sorry I thought this was C4D, I was going to say that if the water material is volumetric, increasing the scatter distance (and caustics) might help. And with that said, I'll jump out of the Max threads ;)

And if i setup camera from above towards pool i can see caustic and water is good. But only from this side view water is dark. Im confused.

Personally I think this is quite normal, you could tweak the material settings to get the water looking as you want, but when the sun is low you tend to see more reflection as less light penetrates the water thus not revealing the depth too much

@Jahac_oluje - can your show your water material setup? And also, what color is the pool under the water?
