Hey guys, recently started trying to get to know corona and so far i'm pretty impressed.
Thinking of moving from Vray completely. Still have a lot to learn and get used to but it's definitely a more pleasant render engine and works great out of the box.
Anyhow some pics..
at the bottom I attached the Chandelier Rendered in Vray, conditions are all the same, different render engine behavior..

Wow, at last, a good car rendering. Rarity here. :)
About the chandelier, are you sure you used "the same" settings - what I mean is in vray: ray depth, reflection/refraction cutoff, double-sided reflections? Because most realistic settings are disabled in vray by default. :)
-
yeah pretty much everything you said is present in Vray, apart from reflect on back side perhaps but that just slows things for quite a bit down without any real benefit to the quality (imo)
Anyhow i was surprised how well corona handles glass, before i had to edit it in post to look good, it looked dark in almost any conditions .. only thing i miss are chromatic abberations ) is there a fake method maybe ?
-
wel... I guess I haven't used this image in a while ;)

Just invert ZDepth Pass in post Production and blend to SoftLight or Screen :)

So as some of you know Jeff Patton recently shared his car pain materials, so I decided to put them to a test and see whats what.
They're great and relatively simple, and since it's corona - pretty universal aswell )
