Post by: HellMyth on 2023-10-22, 15:31:07
Hi, I trying make this material, but it not looking good. When I try use corona physical mat. with clearcoat and sheen - render time increases dramatically

Hi,

If you want the glitter, you will need to render longer and will need to tweak the bump, roughness many times, double check the blurring (for which Corona 11 daily builds can come handy) mostly depending on the resolution you are rendering, and also considering the lighting - there needs to be strong light source so there is glitter.
If you want to do close ups, and get the best quality and realism of the material, there is no other way around. That is the "price" you pay for realism.

If you are going to do non-close up shots, then just play around with roughness, the glitter can even be some noise from the highlights. It will be a matter of a fine bump map, which should give micro-imperfection which catch light.

Thanks for reply! for my situation I'm find compromise:
I render bedding for separate layer and stop it until it has some noise (that looks almost like glitter :) ) and fine tune it in PS

Yeah, good. Sometimes playing with PS is the best option  ;)

Did you have a look at Corona scanned mtls? Some fabrics materials look really nice.
