Hello everyone, I installed a render and it was supposed to take 32 hours, which I thought was normal because I have a lot of fir trees in my scene. But after 12 hours, I noticed that the trees appeared only halfway in the picture and I don't understand why. The render is supposed to continue for another 25 hours. Should I wait for them to appear or did I make a mistake somewhere?
And i use DR, maybe firs renders on a second computer. i don't know
....
Okay, there is also no firs in the sent exr's on dr slave.
....
Anyway, I stopped the render now and started working only on the main computer without DR. After 15 minutes of rendering, it's clear that everything is fine with the trees. Why does DR do this?

It's likely that your slave PC doesn't have access to the asset (the fir tree). Is it a proxy that's saved on a local drive unreachable by the second PC?
My guess is that it's something like this...

Yes, that is right. it seemed to me that dr transfers all the necessary files over the network. How can I share a shared folder if there are dozens of them on different disks of the master pc?
-
I use Dropbox, which definitely isn't recommended by most people.
The better way to do it is to use a mapped network drive. I guess google can help you here...
Edit: Here's a handy video:

I know how this works, but some scenes was rendering correctly, some not, i check the folder with assets on a slave and find some random pictures that not use in scene. Dont understand how DR work.
If i move all scene files to one folder and share it, how i must add files to the scene, example C:\scene, if that path will be used how slave find them, or i must add files to scene on master by pat "\\192.168.0.1\scene"?
With dropbox it more easily, you can set one folder in one location both PC.

Hi, sorry for the delay. If this is still a problem, it would be best if you submit a new support ticket at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
The semi-transparent objects usually mean that the render node is unable to load some assets. This could mean that the node is unable to access the location where the asset is stored (for example a network drive), but it could also be other issues, like missing plugins.
The important thing is to have a simple and fast network setup: computers connected to a switch, fast network adapters, and some kind of centralized location for assets such as a network drive visible to all computers or a NAS. Using Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar solutions should work too, but if something goes wrong, then it's adding one additional 3rd party component to the equation. :)
