Title: Corona materials in Material Slot
Post by: amitgedia1980 on 2023-06-30, 13:04:15
Hi All,
When you change the default render engine  from standard to VRay the compact material library slots changes to VRayMtl, why doesnt it happen when we change the render engine to corona. It always shows VRay Mtl in the slots or the last render engine used.
Attaching the screenshot below.
1st image is VRay render engine and material editor slots with VRay materials.
2nd image is Corona render engine and material editor slots still with VRay materials.
Any help would be useful.
Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. So every time before working on a new project, if we are using Corona render engine then use corona convertor on an empty scene so that the material slots change into corona physical materials, save that file and then start working on it.
Actually this should happen automatic like other render engines when we change the renderer, shouldn't it.

Hi,

just create a startup scene named "maxstart.max" in your 3dsmax\scenes directory with Corona set as current renderer (and every else you'd like to have by default).

Good Luck

Not quite, as Frood said, you could save it into your maxstart.max file.  Or if you read the rest of the article I linked to there's a method to hardcode it swapping out the default Medit file.
