Title: Shading issue
Post by: Sandertype on 2023-06-07, 16:43:23
Hi,

Please take a look at this video.

It seems the sun going through an opacity map on a Light material is causing a shading issue.

I'm attaching the files.

Using Corona 9.1, 3DS Max 2023, Windows 11

This seems to be an instance of "black highlights" explained here: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4528311915025-Known-bugs-and-limitations

Thank you Maru. That works.
Except that "occlude other lights" needs to be checked.
(In this thread you mentioned it needs to be off https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=32357.msg181607#msg181607)

Look what happens if I uncheck occlude other lights.

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, this is expected. That's why the rayswitch trick is a workaround that can be used in some cases, not really a solution.
