Title: Diferences in the images betwwen Corona VFB and jpeg - TIF
Post by: Pedro9374 on 2023-05-04, 01:35:35

Hello guys,

Maybe this is a noob question but I have this problem since ever. Why is the image we see in corona VFB is always so much better than the ones we save? The images we save despite the format are always more dull/washed out than the ones we are seeing in VFB.

TIF format for example helps a little bit but then after post production and saving as jpeg the problem remains. To show better I attached 2 images were we can see the diferences between the formats and the image we are seing in VFB.

Surprisingly to me, the printscreen i made (preview 2) also reduced the quality in the image. I mean, here im seeing even bigger diference betwwen the jpeg - tif - directly from VFB

Does anyone has a solution to this or is it like this normally?

Thank you all

Hello,

Have you tried to compare these file opened in Photoshop or any other "more legit" software? Maybe it's an issue caused by Windows' photo viewer.

Cheers

This was discussed many times and one of the solutions is to install and app called NoVideo_sRGB as suggested by Juraj here:

Generally, the issue is that different applications read the same color values differently.
For example, what you see in 3ds Max is linear image displayed with gamma 2.2 and what you open in Photoshop or most other viewers uses sRGB gamma. There are subtle differences between gamma 2.2 and sRGB.
