Title: Corona - Light Artefact Issues
Post by: Oxocan London on 2023-04-06, 11:07:11
Hi everyone,

Been doing a test render using this scene and it seems that I am getting these wired light patches/artefacts on all my renders! Is anyone else experiencing this or know why this is happening? They only show on the final render using CORONA VFB window and not within C4D render window!

Thank you
Ian

Hi there, looks nice ;) Can you try disabling the adaptive light solver in the performance settings to see if this helps?

Hi,

That was not the issue. Actually, the issue for this error was under the "Development and Experimental Stuff" of the "Primary Solver. The issue arose when I selected "Path Tracing as a solver instated of "According to GI mode". The issue is now solved.

Thank you!

I don't think I've ever seen a reason to change that mode, nor ever seen it as a suggestion from support. That's one to leave alone :)

Yep, things are best left untouched unless instructed to change something. None the less, I'm glad you resolved it.

Which version of Corona is that? In your image, you are literally seeing what the GI cache looks like. Have you tried fully resetting all render settings to factory defaults?

Note that with path tracing as primary and secondary GI solvers you will get much higher render times, especially in interiors.

Hi Tom,

Well, since the features are available, I did try all the settings. Sometimes things break, but we don't mind, we fix it! :). Everything works perfectly now and I was able to finalise the render as attached!

Many thanks once again!

Sure thing! For the developmental/experimental settings though, those are usually off and hidden, and for good reason - they are in the category of "do not change these, unless support recommends changing something to investigate or resolve your particular problem". Any other settings in Corona are safe to try, but the ones in that (usually hidden) category can break things. We can't tell you not to try them out, but we strongly advise against it :) They are kept hidden under normal circumstances for a reason hehe. Anyway, glad you have it sorted here now!

What are these white orbs everywhere? Is it some post processing effect?

Yes Maru. It's a little dust particles :)
