Title: Speed on M1 Macs
Post by: wsiew on 2022-12-16, 13:55:40
My MacBook pro with Intel (2019), 64 GB Ram, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB needs about 00:02:05.73 for your bench test.
The MacBook M1 max needs 00:02:22.7.
According to Cinebench, the new M1 is about 1.5 times faster than my Intel MacBook pro.
So why isn't it 1.5 times as fast with Corona? Is Corona not yet running natively on M1 Macs?
Is it soon to expect that M1 Macs will be faster with Corona?
Many greetings, Wolfgang

The benchmark is old and not compiled for Macs, unlike the latest releases of Corona itself :)

Thank you Tom. Can you tell me roughly how much faster a MacBook M1 pro M1 max is compared to a MacBook pro Core i9?
I also believe that there is no difference in CPU between pro and max.
I'm sure many here would be interested to know what Corona'sg future with Apple looks like. After all, we don't want to spend money on machines that are hopelessly behind equally expensive Windows systems.

I work with a MacBook Pro M1 Pro Max. The Cinebench is 14.000, same as iMac i9 10K generation. Try a Cinebench on the MacBook Pro i9 so you can see yourself differences during rendering...
