Post by: steppes on 2022-12-12, 16:27:43
Hi all!

Can vrscan materials only be used in UV projection?

Why?

Hi, proper UV mapping is key for this but I believe triplanar mapping is also on the cards for it.

In this regard, how about VRScans as Smart Substance materials then? Any consideration?

Hi there,
Perhaps you may want to include this in the "Feature request" forum section.
Some other users might be interested as well.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards.

You can absolutely use VRScans in different projection modes. You may have to delete adjust the scale manually, but it works. If your model needs to have the material's pattern go in different directions on different portions of your model then proper UVs is preferred. You can also just save selections for groups of polygons and rotate as needed. Workarounds perhaps, but it will work.
