Hi all,
I was searching for that topic but could not find any, so I am opening this thread:
I mentioned that the "send to c4d" button in the vfb opens the c4d-pictureviewer, but the rendering is not sent to it. Just a blank window. Corona 9 and 2023.1.
It works in R19 an Corona 9

Hi steppes,
Thank you for reporting this.
We will investigate this issue.
I'll return to you as soon as possible to let you know the outcome.
Kind regards.
-
Hi Steppes,
Can you also test this with the latest Corona 10 daily build to see if it's still an issue?

Hi Steppes,
Did you get a chance to test this?
-
I havent tested in Corona 10.
Is there a way to fixit in Corona 9?
-
Hi, is the render running when trying to send to the picture viewer or has it completed? I just checked it here with V9 and it seems to work when it's running.

will try tomorrow
but the picture-viewer is empty, when sending the finished render to c4d. I normally use this, when I correct bloom and glare and resave the psd.
-
Hi, please try sending it to the PV before the render has finished. It seems to be a bug which we have reported. I hope that helps.
-
send to c4d is still not working in Corona 10 in C4d 2023.2.2. Please fix this!
It workes, when using it while the Renderer is running, but I need to stop the render before sending to c4d, because of the bloom and glare, which will not be calculated, while rendering.
I need to use the send to c4d-feature, when I see, that the render is good enough, but due to the settings corona wants to continue...
Thanks

still not working with Corona 11 in 2024.1
please help
-
Hi, I just tried this again with V11 & C4D 2024 and also noticed this. But also, if I cleared the VFB after rendering and did it again, it worked. Does this also happen for you?
-
Happen on my side too, and moreover this bug prevents Cinema 4D to save properly a multilayered image, even when using Takes. Quite painful when you realize it in the morning after an 8 hours overnight render.
-
Ouch, I can imagine. I will add that to our bug report also. Thx for the heads up! ;)
-
still not working in c4d 2024.5.1 and corona 12.1
very bad example: Last night I had to render a really huge image (15000 px wide!). With some added passes the final render was too big to be saved where it should be. Since the "send to c4d" does not work I had so save every single pass seperately...
can you please fix this?

Still not working on 12 Update 1

EDIT : A workaround is to open the Picture Viewer before rendering
-
With this being the old VFB, it won't be high priority to address it, sorry - does it work as intended from the VFB 2?

Hello @John_Do,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
It seems to be working here (see attached image)
Could you please share a screenshot of the Corona Preferences with us? (C4D Preferences > Renderer > Corona)
With special attention to the "Advanced" section at the bottom.
On the other hand, Could you please enable the "Enable devel/debug mode" checkbox?
Additional checkboxes will be displayed under the above-mentioned checkbox.
Then make sure the "Show VFB render in PV" and the "Update PV image after rendering" checkboxes are enabled.
Lastly, disable the "Enable devel/debug mode" checkbox.
Try again and see if the issue persists.
One last thing, could you please try using the latest Daily Build and see if the issue persists?
Kind regards.

Hi Benjamin,
Here you go :

The commands you're mentioning were already enabled on my side, so it doesn't improve the situation.
To be clear the feature works fine most of the time, it's just a specific bug when rendering for the first time in the session without opening first the PV : the image doesn't show in the PV.
It's particularly annoying because of these two things :
- We can't save a multilayered EXR from the Corona VFB
- The bug happens with takes too, so as underlined before it can be really painful to get back to work in the morning only to find you're missing all your multipass layers.

Hello @John_Do,
Thanks for the additional info.
I can confirm that this is reproducible only for the first rendered image per host app's session. It has already been reported to the dev team for further investigation.
