Chaos Corona for 3ds Max => [Max] I need help! => Topic started by: John.McWaters on 2022-11-07, 14:49:25

I had a max file around 240mb, and suddenly I see it's jumped up to just under 1GB. Are there any ideas on what may be causing this? I didn't add any geometry or textures to the scene that would cause such a big jump in file size.

Would need to know some history - was this previously saved in an earlier version of Max? Of Corona? If so, which versions? Were any changes made or just a straight open-resave? Does it happen in non-Corona scenes? Is it every scene or just this one? Can you send the scene in? (https://support.chaos.com/requests/new )

Preferences -> Files -> "Compress on Save" on vs. off? Also see Autobackup compress settings in case of you're looking at some of them.
Good Luck

Can I shoot you the scene via the link for you to take a look?

Hi John! Yep, using the https://support.chaos.com/requests/new link will let you describe the situation and send in the scene or other attachments (privately, so only for us to look at and only for bugfixing purposes). TY!

Cool, I'll send it now. BTW, I'm not even sure Corona is an issue here.

Check the scene with some cleaner script - sometimes Max can accumulate lots of garbage, like animation tracks, erroneous effects and similar, which can lead to dramatic file size increase.
