hi guys,
using corona 8 hotfix 2, i have a major problem, when rendering with hdri as environment ( without sun ) and caustics solver  turned on in the render settings i get lots of white dots in the render, when i turn the caustics solver off the problem disappear
any solutions ?

Could me many things, but it would be helpful to see an example of the issue, before advising what to check first.

Can you reproduce the same issue with the same scene in Corona 9? A lot of issues were fixed there, so if it's fixed in V9, we can't do anything about V8.

I'd hate to state the obvious here... but it's just working as expected?

In most cases rendering with caustics causes a LOT of white dot artifacts and takes a long time to be less noisy.

You can try limiting the caustics being generated from only 1 light source and/or exclude many objects from the caustics calculation.

the only solution was, for now, is to include only the pool in the caustic solver. it works good now
