Ive been trying to find models or videos on how to create a backlit metal mesh panel using only materials. Please help! see attached images for the "look of" im trying to achieve. Any help would be great!

Have you tried using two textures stacked on each other or even two sets of geometry? One for the illuminated panel and the other for the holes? In my example I went for the second option ;)

Or simple "Chrome Rough" with self illuminated circle tiles.

Yeah that's probably a better option ;)

@Beanzvision could you upload the files for your two options? I tried using both ways but I seem to be missing something.

Okay i think i see why its different. You did your example on Cinema 4D and im using 3DS Max. Would you mind showing me using 3ds max?

I don't use 3ds Max but the principle will be exactly the same ;)

Why then you posted your question in C4D board? ;]
In 3ds Max you can use gradient ramp to get circular masking.
