#1 xform has no effects on Corona light. Sometime I use it to re-orient multiple instances of lights without open all groups
#2 gradient ramp has no effect on self-illumination texture slot,. It's ok for Corona light material.

Not true. Just remember to increase MSI or set it to 0, otherwise your self-illumination will get clamped. (at leas I suspect so ;) )

Why not? I never did it personally, but i can imagine situations when it could be useful. Now, i have to try this :]

Because ies lights can't be rotated from the modify panel except you open all assemblies or blocks and move all the target points or rotate all lights carefully with xref you can move up and down or rotate the lights in a snap.

You probably forgot to set the multiplier to 1 the first time.
About the Xform modifier for lights: that is currently not planned. Use geometry with CoronaLightMtl instead - it has exactly the same efficiency.
